New goal and exciting news!

January 30, 2014
Guys, I have some AMAZING news!  I’m bursting at the seams and can’t wait to share!!

But I will…

Let’s get down to business first…

I’d say I’ve been really doing things right 99% of the time lately.

I have gone through my cookbooks (Weight Watchers and Biggest Loser, mostly) and come up with a fantastic meal plan for the next two weeks.  Alright, it was supposed to be a one week meal plan, but when we work in leftover nights it stretches out to two weeks, which is fine by me.  I love having fun recipes to try and great ideas so don’t scramble and make bad choices.

I’ve made to to the end of my Biggest Loser 30 Day Power X-Train DVD!  Tomorrow will be the last day, and I’m so proud to have stuck with it the full 30 days!  I will be honest and say that fitting in the workouts during nap time have decreased my productivity with other things because that was my time to kick it into high gear and get things done, but it’s worth it.  I’ve also been pretty lucky because my husband has really stepped up and helped me when he gets home at night, it makes such a difference!

So, I have been planning, making workouts a priority, staying strong resisting mindless snacking during the day, and that’s my 99%.

It’s that 1% that has been killing me!

Nighttime rolls around and my binge behaviors come back full force!  It is amazing the amount of calories I can consume in no time at all.

I tell myself not to waste all my hard work in a matter of minutes, to keep my goal in mind, to remember all those tricks that got me through before, make healthy choices, etc. but I’m still out of control!

Aren’t these hilarious? Found them in a store the other day!

Game Changer

I’m recommitting! I’m giving myself a goal and sticking to it! There are just over two weeks between now and our annual snowmobile weekend. My goal is 10 pounds in fourteen days and I will treat myself to a new pair of snowmobile pants. I think I’ve come to the conclusion that my post-babies hips may never fit back into my old pants no matter how small I get. Snowmobile pants are so expensive, but that’s why it’s a great reward!

That should be motivation enough to stop the snacking. I’m going to be 100% on point until February 14th, lose 10 pounds, and finally get my snowmobile pants guilt-free!

So that was the plan… Anyone else, part of a one-income family of five, knows how difficult it is to make the decision to spend that kind of money on yourself. It’s also specially difficult when other things come up.

And something came up…

Remember my good news I can’t wait to share??? Well here it is!

My husband and I will be on our way to LA for the Biggest Loser Live Finale this coming Monday!

I still can’t believe it!

I had a chance to win tickets to the finale last night during our #JustCrunchEm Twitter party and was actually nervous to win because I would have to decided if it was worth coming up with the money for airfare and hotel. For some reason, I had a feeling I would win. We’re not really in a position for a spur-of-the-moment trip and $1000 price tag when all was said and done. I was pretty relieved when I didn’t win.

And then I realized that I was one of the winners of the Planet Fitness #PFBiggestSupport Grand Prize!!! I seriously only tweeted with that hashtag a couple times! I was so excited!

I called my mom immediately and told her about the prize. At that point I didn’t know if I should be excited or still worry about the price of lodging and airfare, so I looked up the official grand prize. Two tickets to the live finale, two plane tickets, two nights in a hotel, and ground transportation while in LA!!!

I’m still in shock and waiting for my official email to come from Planet Fitness, but they’ve been in touch through Twitter so I think I can get excited!

Have you ever won something amazing before? Are you a Biggest Loser fan? Who would you be most excited to see at the finale?

  1. OMG – how exciting! What a nice getaway that will be for you! I am so, so jealous. Proof that I need to participate in twitter chats more frequently!

Also – that BL Family Cookbook has a BBQ meatloaf recipe that is one of our all-time favorite meals. Try it, it is SO GOOD.

  2. Dude I still can’t believe you won! That is SO freaking exciting! I would be freaking out if I won, lol. Also, good luck on earning those pants!!!! I totally get what you mean about it being hard to justify buying things like that when finances are tight. I hope you are able to get them! 😀

  3. Holy shit! I’m so exited for you! And you totes got this! I need to come up with some goals to motivate me. Thank you for inspiring me :).

  4. Holy cow! That’s awesome!! Congratulations. And great job on your health goals too!! So glad to have found your blog through SITS:)

  6. Stopping by from the Comment Love Tribe!

I had no idea that there was a biggest loser cookbook! That is definitely something I want to look into. I am starting to do meal planning for a diet and that would be a huge help. Also, I know it already passed but Congrats on winning that trip! Looks like you had a great time.

  7. So now that you have been menu planning for a bit do you love it? I feel so lost when I don’t menu plan anymore. I also love taking a one week plan and stretching it to two with leftovers!! #SITSBlogging

    1. I do love it! I’m not 100% with sticking to it, but it makes such a difference! I really do love stretching it into two weeks! Thanks so much for stopping by!
