I can’t believe summer is coming to a close! I was just talking to our summer nanny and realizing we only have a couple weeks left with her. We still have so much to do: camping trips, work around the house, adding on to the kiddos’ swing set, cabin trips, garage sale, etc…

Whew! Do you still have plenty of items on your summer list?

Another thing most of us want to do is stay active in the summer and use these beautiful days while we have them. I’m enjoying outdoor runs, working outside, playing with the kiddos, and doing as many workouts outside as I can before we’re locked in for the long winter.

Today was the first day of my 100 Kettlebell Swings for 100 Days that I didn’t do it outside, but you better believe I spent the rest of the night out there helping my little guy catch frogs (my little guy’s new obsession) , grilling dinner, and picking all the fresh veggies from our garden.

Which reminds me, I love all the fresh food in the summer! Fresh veggies for the garden, berries from the store, and when I need something that will last a little longer fruit and nut bars are my favorite!

I tried some new Balance Bare bars from Walmart. Walmart is the only place you can get the bare value pack with 5 bars and there is a could inside for $1 off your next box. So buy them one at a time instead of two at a time like I did and you’ll save a dollar. The flavors are amazing: Mixed Berry Nut and Sea Salt Caramel Nut.

I was most excited to try the Sea Salt Caramel Nut bar, and it didn’t disappoint and was caramels and delicious, but I was so surprised to find the Mixed Berry Nut bar to be my favorite. Yum! The Berry flavor is insane and the sweet blueberries really stand out.

My kids love them and keep asking for one since the day I brought them home. These will be perfect to throw in my bag when we are out making the most of the last few weeks of summer. I can take them for an early morning trip to the farmers market, out on the boat at the cabin, the kiddos can eat them in the stroller while I jog to the park, and we can even take a break from catching frogs with a snack they don’t have to touch while they eat.

We’ve got plenty to keep us busy and active this summer, but for a few more tips, Balance Bar has teamed up with Gabby Reece to share some quick and easy workout moves and tips for staying balanced this summer.

Now, the super exciting part!

Balance Bar and Walmart want to make sure you shape up this summer by giving one of you some of your own Balance Bare Bars and a $15 Walmart gift card!

    1. I swam once at the beginning of summer – hopefully I’ll get one more chance too

    1. Very true! I’m afraid to run outside in the winter, so I will get it in until that snow falls and ice starts

  1. I have been deep cleaning and canning and sewing and prepping cloth diapers…. Yeah, you can call it nesting. Baby arriving any day now!

    1. So exciting!! If I did it over again I would cloth diaper too. Congrats on your new addition soon!

  2. We managed to build a swing set for my son, visited the zoo and theme parks, but still want to road trip to visit family before the summer is over!

    1. We were supposed to grill tonight but some much needed rain ruined those plans – tomorrow, though.

  3. I would love to get in a trip to the beach, but with my Dad living with us due to health issues, I think that plan is on hold until fall.

    1. Oh, that’s too bad. Certain things put it all into perspective – a beach day would be nice but it’s not as important as those family moments

    1. Our state fair is coming up soon too – we’ll have to figure out a day to go too

    1. So true! My little guy is learning and I’d love to go for family bike rides once my little girl gets bigger
