March 1, 2018

Dinosaur Snacks are a kid favorite! Dinosaur Bites are a perfect snack or treat for little hands.

Our favorite so far are the chocolate pudding dinosaur bites. They taste just like a fudgecicle in bite-size dinosaur form. And so easy!

With just this one tool, there are so many different dinosaur bites you can make! We’ve got you covered with six dinosaur bites ideas to jump-start your creativity!

I can’t tell you how many kiddos we’ve come across lately who are obsessed with dinosaurs!

We were just at a birthday party for a little girl who knows all the dinosaurs and loves them! It was so funny to hear the name of some obscure dinosaur I don’t even know, and then hear her so excited because she only has two of them.

I have to admit, I especially love little girls being into dinosaurs.

We have the perfect snacks for all those dinosaur fans and dinosaur birthday parties!

Dinosaur Bites

You’ve seen us use these silicone molds before. We can’t get enough of them because it’s so easy to make snacks fun by just popping them in the silicone mold.

We especially love these new dinosaur silicone molds!

The detail on each of the 5 dinosaurs – Stegosaurus, T-rex, Brachiosaurus, Triceratops and Pterodactyl – is amazing. They come with three molds and three droppers for filling.

Dinosaur Silicone Mold for Easy Dinosaur Treats and Dinosaur Snacks

This is a mom trick for impressive snacks and treats that are so easy but look so good!

Silicone molds are the best because they can be a fun family activity. They are easy for little hands to get in on the action. They can make anything seem exciting and new.

They love tapping and shaking the molds to get all the air out!

Tip: The key to silicone molds is to tap, tap, tap to get all the air bubbles out. When all the little crevices are filled, that’s when you see the adorable detail.

As I said, kiddos love this part! Have them tap or slide the silicone mold back and forth over the counter. Sliding causes the molds to bump along so it’s a little more controlled.

Pudding Dinosaur Bites

These are just like a fudgcicle, but in miniature dinosaur form!

They are so easy, and you can make them a couple ways.

  1. You can make up a packet of pudding and fill all three of the silicone dinosaur molds.
  2. Or… you can do what we do. Pop open a snack pack of your favorite pudding and just make a few.

Tip: The thinner the consistency of the pudding, the better it will settle into the mold. When making pudding from scratch or the box, it will go into the molds before it thickens too much.

Pudding Cup Tip: Add as much milk as you can into the pudding cup and stir until it thins out. We add milk, stir, add more milk, stir… until it is as thin as we can get it and still keep it in the cup.

Once the dinosaur molds are filled, pop them in the freezer for a frozen pudding treat. They are just like little fudgcicle bites!

Banana “Nice”cream Dinosaur Bites

What’s not to love about banana “nice”cream? It has such a great texture and feels like the real thing.

In this case, you’re turning it into a banana popcicle more than ice cream, but it’s still yummy!

I like to use our little single-serving smoothie blender and pop in a banana, a scoop of cocoa powder, a scoop of peanut butter, and keep adding milk until it is the consistency I want.

You can find so many “nice”cream recipes here.

We’ve only tried banana “nice”cream so far, but you can use all sorts of frozen fruits.

In this case, I guess I could just suggest Smoothie Dinosaur Bites, because you don’t necessarily have to freeze the fruit before hand. Just make up your favorite smoothie recipe, fill the dinosaur molds, and freeze.

Chocolate Milk or “Milk” Dinosaur Bites

Want to get even easier yet?

Simply take your favorite milk, nut milk, rice milk, coconut milk, etc. Pour it into the dinosaur molds, and freeze for a great frozen treat!

I made some with our Cailfia Farms Toasted Coconut Almond Milk, but their cold brew coffee with almond milk would be an amazing treat just for Mom!

For the kiddos, I think they would love a chocolate milk version the best. It’s just like the pudding dinosaur bites, but you can make this anytime you have some milk on hand.

The other bonus is that they will fill the dinosaur molds perfectly and you will see all the detail every time.

Yogurt Dinosaur Bites

Y’know we love our yogurt bites!

I think this may be the second or third time we have talked about how much we love frozen yogurt bites.

  • Rainbow Yogurt Bites – Our kiddos still ask for Rainbow Yogurt Bears all the time, and the Dots are like a healthier version of Dippin’ Dots.
  • Fruit and Yogurt Pops – These yogurt pops are easy with plain yogurt and fruit pieces. We used strawberries – yum!
  • Frozen Yogurt Fruit Bites – We also love to just cover fruit (blueberries in this case) in yogurt and pop them in the freezer. That’s why we included this as one of our favorite 20 Healthy Snacks Kids Love.

We always have yogurt in our house, so this is an easy one for us that we do often. You can add color to the yogurt, mix in some colored sprinkles, add fresh fruit, or just leave it plain.

Fill the dinosaur molds, freeze, and your kiddos are eating yogurt like it’s dessert!

Dinosaur Gummies

We have yet to make our own gummies, but that is what these silicone molds are basically made for.

Goodness knows, I have pinned a million gummy recipes. They range from basically jello bites, to healthier whole fruit options, to ones that sneak in all sorts of other fantastic ingredients and benefits.

I love the idea of healthier gummies and the kids would be in heaven, but I haven’t taken the plunge. I even have the geletin in my pantry right this moment waiting for this to happen…

However, I felt I would be remiss if I didn’t at least point you in the right direction for this adorable snack or treat idea. You can find all sorts of gummy recipes here.

Chocolate Dinosaur Bites

I mean, you really can’t go wrong with chocolate.

We’ve offered some healthier options, but when it comes down to it, chocolate is always a favorite!

It’s so easy to melt some chocolate or even almond bark into these molds and have a total crowd pleaser!

We used white chocolate almond bark and some mint extract when we made our Santa Bear Hot Chocolate Melts in our Avery Roads bear molds.

The bonus with these and the gummies, is that they are non-frozen options. So, they are perfect for putting out for parties or adding a surprise to a school lunch.

Dinosaur Bites - Dinosaur Treats and Snacks served in a chocolate dinosaur egg

Make your own Chocolate Dinosaur eggs too!

Presentation is also fun to play around with.

If you’re already melting the chocolate, make a chocolate dinosaur egg to serve your treats.

Even if you’re making the yogurt, “nice”cream, or pudding dinosaur bites, a chocolate egg is a very fun way to serve them.

You can easily melt chocolate and swirl it around in a plastic Easter egg for individual dinosaur eggs for your dinosaur bites.

While we’re on the dinosaur theme, these Easter eggs come filled with toy dinosaurs!

Or… you can use a larger Easter egg container and serve up all of your dinosaur bites for a party.

We used two squares of vanilla almond bark and half square of chocolate almond bark to make our large dinosaur egg.

I melted the vanilla almond bark and threw the pieces of chocolate almond bark in to the warm bowl to make the swirl effect. Then, I poured in in our a section of a large candy-filled Easter egg the kids had from last year.

It doesn’t take long to set in the freezer. When it comes out, carefully squeeze around the egg while rotating. If needed, run the egg under warm water to release. I just put the warm water on my hands and ran them over the areas of the egg that needed to release.

Such a cute way to serve these dinosaur bites!
