I was so excited to see this opportunity to create something for back to school with Duck Tape! I immediately started brainstorming.
I mean, what can’t you make with Duck Tape?
I haven’t had a good excuse to purches some of the awesome new patterns and colors since about 5 years ago when our family did a homemade gift exchange with Duck Tape projects – so much fun!
I may be at the cabin with spotty Internet service and limited places to shop, but luckily you can buy Duck Tape at Walmart, so I headed out to pick some up. I also grabbed some storage bags to use along with the notebook and pen I already had.
I was most excited about making a snack bag. I usually pack my step-daughter’s lunches in containers, but I do send Hubby with bags of chips or cookies and I’ve been wanting to make some heavy-duty bags that will last longer than flimsy sandwich bags we’ve been using. I got some with the slider seal and covered it in Duck Tape. It looks like it will work great! It feels so much more heavy-duty and looks like it will hold up way longer!
i found an old pen and wrapped it in tape. I then made a little bow my folding the tape in half the long way and bringing the two ends to meet in the middle and securing with a small piece in another color. I attached it to the clip of the pen. I
I did a matching bow on the notebook where the two strips of tape intersect.
Love them! What would you make? Or what have you made from Duck Tape?
Very cute!
I love the sandwich bags!! I may have to make some of those myself.
Wow! Very clever idea!
Cool beans. I love Duck tape. It is so versatile. 🙂
Wow, what a great idea! You’re a genius!
Great idea! Wonderful!
Hugs!!!
This is cute! What a great idea!
How do you clean the sandwich bag? I wondered if even hand washing would loosen the tape.
I’m not positive what is going to happen… 8 use them for my husband’s chips or cookies so they should be fine without washing for a while. When they’re ready, I plan on carefully cleaning the inside until I find out how they hold up. I think my tape job was pretty good and most corners were covered to prevent them from rolling up. Time will tell and I’ll plan an update for a month from now and see how they’re holding up!
What a great idea!! I can’t wait to see how they hold up. I think I even have some leftover duct tape around, maybe I’ll give it a try myself!!
Thanks for stopping by two girls and a party! – Dee @ From Wine to Whine
What a cute project! I’m going to try the snack bags for back-to-school. Great job!
