Workouts during naptime, and encouraging healthy eating and a variety of foods for her girls. Motivating Mom Chrissy shares how she does it.
I’m happy I am sticking to a regular fitness schedule during naptimes.
I love hearing stories from other moms, especially those who are committed to living a healthy lifestyle and raising a healthy family. I’m very inspired by other moms and I love to hear how they stay committed to setting a healthy example for their little ones and raising a healthy family.
Today we’re hearing from Motivating Mom Chrissy!

Name: Chrissy
Number of children and ages: 3 ages 1.5 and 3 and 4
Are you a SAHM, WAHM, or work outside the home mom? I’m a SAHM who is working to build a blog and etsy business.
Describe your background as it relates to health, fitness, weight loss, etc.
I’ve been active my entire life. I was a gymnast for 11 years and ever since have made health and fitness a priority. However, life happens and when three small children enter your life, fitness can sometimes take a backseat. So I’ve made a point to refocus on my health – for myself as well as for my family.
I generally keep my workouts to 30 minutes…
When do you typically fit in your physical fitness?
I exercise during naptimes Monday through Friday. I workout at home by doing my own workouts or the Beachbody programs. I generally keep my workouts to 30 minutes in length.
How do you make healthy eating a priority?
I try to limit junk food and high sugar foods as well as processed foods. I keep fresh fruit available and cook our meals every day. Rarely do we eat out or order in. We do have a small garden. I make it a point to offer my girls a variety of healthy foods for a balanced diet.
How do you get your kids involved in a healthy lifestyle?
My girls are very active and we go for walks and bike rides. We like to dance too. I try to teach them that food gives us energy and helps us grow healthy and strong. That we need to eat a variety of delicious nutritious foods. The girls are pretty young yet but I’ll ask them which fruits and veggies they’d like to try.

What are your biggest struggles?
I’d really like to cook better and do a better job meal planning. There are too many days where I’m wondering what to make for dinner. It seems I’m always making the same thing. Although, half the time I make dinner no one eats it. I have some picky toddler eaters.
What are your biggest accomplishments as a mom?
Some days I’m just glad I made it through the day! But this is a tough question. I’m just trying to do my best to provide a loving, safe, healthy environment for my girls to thrive in. Honestly, I have no idea if I’m accomplishing that.
What are your biggest accomplishments in regards to health and fitness?
I’m happy I am sticking to a regular fitness schedule during naptimes. That I’m getting healthy and strong again. I’m happy I am staying away from most junk food and giving my family healthier food options.
Celebrate your successes no matter how small.
Share your 3 best tips for moms who are struggling?
Don’t try to do it all at once. Tackle one small change at a time. Exercising for 10 minutes is better than not exercising at all!
