I found myself writing too much for others and letting my own journey suffer. For the last couple month Friday has been My Day, and I share more personal posts.
This week:
- I’m sad to see my Kohls gift end, but so proud of what I accomplished
- I’m in a good place with my motivation, planning, and excited to take charge of my journey myself
- The voting opened for the IDEA World BlogFest Lightning Round, and I am so honored to be in the running again this year!
I feel great this week!
I had my last training session from my gift from Kohls. (I plan to sum up the whole experience soon!) As sad as I am to see it end, I am so excited to give it a go on my own.
I’m extremely motivated right now!
The last two days before my training session I got in some amazing workouts from Gigabody, and I’m super excited to get into some of my recent thrift finds and try some new workouts on my own time.
After struggling with my motivation, I finally feel like I’m back in charge of my health instead of having my cravings controlling me. I’m planning, tracking, and getting my workouts in. It feels fantastic!
Another thing that feels great is finding out that I’m in the running to speak at IDEA World BlogFest Lightning Round!!!
I was lucky enough to speak last year and it was the best decision I ever made! I felt so fortunate to have a chance to get up in front of all those amazing women (and men). It’s always scary to push yourself into public speaking, but it was an amazing opportunity I’d love to repeat!
Last year the Lightning Round was at the end of BlogFest, and I’m so excited to see that it is near the beginning this year. I got a chance to talk to so many people after the lightning round because they got a chance to learn a little about me which gave us more of an opportunity to connect.
This year, I plan to share a piece of advice I learned from Tiffany Romero from The SITS Girls, which is to figure out what your ultimate “End Game” will be. Once you find it, or admit to yourself what it really is, everything you do should be guiding your to that point – directly or indirectly. It has really changed the way I think about the choices I make and what I spend my energy on.
All of BlogFest was such a wonderful experience! I definitely recommend it to anyone! I learned so much, met some amazing blogger that I had looked up to, and had so much fun with the workouts, socializing, awesome swag, and the expo. It was amazing!
Definitely worth the cost, but the cost does make it hard. Last year it was in Anaheim in August, which was great, but this year it is in LA in July which makes it a bit harder for me. If it weren’t for all the travel costs, I would say the cost of BlogFest is completely worth it!
So, if you’re on the fence, DO IT! I’d love to meet you! I’d also love a vote whether you’re going or not. The BlogFest Lightning Round voting page is here. Thanks so much for your support!
I have never been to blogfest or even heard about it. I look forward to learning more.

Thank you! So sweet!
I am going to make this the year I go to a blog event. It may be costly but it is my vacation to learn.

It is so fantastic, you will definitely not regret it! The money makes it tough, but I have never once regretted it once I made it work.
I love this! I’m thinking about going to Blogfest this year. It will be my first blogging convention.

You should absolutely go! It is wonderful! If money were no object, I would be there in a heartbeat again. Let me know if you decide to go and I’ll keep an eye out for you.
I wish you luck continuing what you learned from the Kohls experience. I know that going to the gym on your own can be scary but don’t let it be. There are a ton of great classes and trainers available to help you with your workouts.
I also would love to go to a blogging conference. Maybe one day.

Thank you! I used to love classes when I was in grad school. These days with the two little ones it seems more efficient to work out at home. Thank goodness for the warmer weather! I hope to get back to a gym someday.
My week has been hectic! I had a baby 2 weeks ago and my husband came home from his deployment on emergency leave after the birth – he left yesterday so that’s been tough!
