So, that weekend away that I have been looking forward to forever?…
I crashed…
My sled that I love and said I wanted to keep forever because I didn’t want to spend money on snowmobiles, is totaled…
Those pants that I choked at having to spend $100 on just last year, are torn to pieces.
I’m beat up but ok, so that is the main thing to be happy about.
I counted all my blessings during our beautiful ride the next day.
Now, I’m back home and back to reality, and this frugal Momma needs to do something about this…
I’ve seen people do a no spending month, and I think it is exactly what I need. We have enough food in our pantry, fridge, and freezer to make it work. I also could use some time away from the stores, and some time to think about how we can spend our money more wisely or even how I could make a bit extra.
This sad $1000 mistake has been a real wake up call. I’ve always been frugal, I make every decision like we’re poor, and I am not wasteful, but there are always ways to cut back and I think I’m going to go for it!
I’ve seen these just recently and am so intrigued by them. I think it would be really hard, just because it’s so easy to grab things we think we need, but that aren’t actually necessary. I’d love to try it, just to see how well I did. I bet it’s a real eye-opener! #SITSBlogging

You hit the nail on the head! I almost wanted to give in on groceries, but my husband made me realize that we have MORE than enough right in the house, instead of grabbing the same things from the store. I also realized when I got a few minutes to myself that all I wanted to do was to thrifting for kids clothes and cookbooks. :). Also, without this month, I would have easily gone with my mom for a Costco trip and spent a fortune!
It has been a real eye opener!
