Weekend Away {alcohol and weight loss}

We look forward to our Snowmobile Weekend every year.

We try to get a few weekends of snowmobiling in each winter, but there is one weekend we really look forward to. We’ve been going up with about 6 friends for the past 6 years, and it is a blast!

It is also the one weekend a year that this healthy Momma has a few drinks.

Alcohol and weight loss

The reason it is limited to this weekend is that I found that drinking really hurt my weight loss.

First, you have all the calories in the drink – I’ll take an ice cream sundae instead, please. Second, it almost always leads to incontrollable snacking. Third, I feel so off the next day that it can ruin a couple days in a row with my eating.

I pretty quickly decided that it wasn’t worth it. Also, I have no idea how those with kids even enjoy a drink or two! All I keep thinking about is how little sleep I get anyway and how the kids don’t stop just because Mom has a headache.

I’m interested to see how this trip goes. I’m hoping to keep my goals in kind,but not stress myself out over the fact that I will very likely have to deviate from my plan. I’m going to enjoy myself, try to keep myself in check, and take care of the damage when we return. I am not going to beat myself up about it.
