Hey all!
I have been MIA a bit lately. I’m still keeping up on Facebook and Instagram, but I have been seriously slacking with the blog.
Things have been crazy!
Things can get busy with staying home with the kids full time, driving to and from half-day preschool (what a joke! I can never get anything done in between!), and working part-time from home. I always feel a bit behind, but I have a schedule and we make it work.
Two weeks ago I was asking my husband if he could be home early for a conference and he informed me that he quit his job.
Just like that. No discussion. He was just done without anything else lined up.
He’s been talking about making a change for a while but this was pretty out of the blue. He tried to make it better by saying he would be giving me more time to get my own hours in.
I can count about 5 hours total over the last couple weeks that he watched the kids and those include naptime…
So, I’ve been struggling to keep up way more than usual. Work has been suffering because instead of making the time I’m left waiting for that large block of time he’s going to give me and it never comes. I’m still making every meal and making sure the kids are taken care of and the house is ended up a disaster because I usually make time to clean it when I’m alone with the kids. My husband seems to think this is vacation and he’s adding all sorts of home projects to my day, so I am pretty much going crazy!
Hopefully this explains my absence and even more, I hope things change soon…
I miss blogging and it makes me happy, so I’m going to do my best to keep checking in. There are also some really fun things on the horizon related to this little blog…
Spring has arrived and I have all sorts of fun Spring reviews, recipes, and things to share with you!
And…
I was chosen again to speak at BlogFest!!
I am so excited! Speaking in the lightning round last year was such a great opportunity! Obviously, with our financial situation right now, it will be a little difficult, but I had so much fun last year and it is so worth the cost!
Look for another post on Wednesday, just before National Picnic Day, and I may even have a giveaway for you! I’m determined to stick to my Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule – So hold me to it!! 🙂
Have you had a time where you or your significant other were in limbo on the job front?
Are you going to BlogFest? Or another conference this year?
life can get very busy and yours sounds super busy but packed with so many different things I am sure so super fun
Thanks, Angie! It is
Blogfest.. thats the first i heard of it.. i would like to attend one that is close to me.
It is the best, but not at all close to me so money is an issue, but so worth it!
Congratulations on speaking at BlogFest. Don’t beat yourself up too bad for slacking in some areas. Life has a way of taking over sometimes.

Wow, I know that I wouldn’t be happy if my husband quit his job before he had something else lined up if there wasn’t some extremely valid excuse for doing so. I hope everything works out. I always felt bad for the two layoffs I’ve encountered since I got married. The last one has been long term due to my medical issues.
It’s not easy for anyone to go through for sure. It has really made me realize how lucky we are because I’m actually pretty calm about it – besides the fact that everything is changed and he’s throwing my schedule off! 🙂
I know I struggle to get anything accomplished when my husband has an unplanned day off! Husbands can be worse than kids when it comes to needing your attention and making a mess! lol Good luck!

Haha! See, this is exactly what I needed to hear! He is driving me nuts and our whole schedule is off! 🙂
I think I would panic if hubby quick his job. He is the only income as I don’t make anything blogging so that would freak me out. Hope things get better and your schedule works out.

Luckily, I work part time from home but it does give me a little panic because I don’t know how long it will take!
We’ve recently gone through major life changes and it is hard to adjust and change your mindset from what was normal to the new normal. But as a result of the major changes good things have come along. Sometimes growing pains hurt. Hope things get easier and better for you!

Thanks so much, Lois! This has really made me appreciate all we have and realize that we are in a position to get through this which makes me proud. Your kind words are SO appreciated!
Wow… I don’t think I could have handled that news as well as you did. I think I would be pretty upset at hubby for not at least discussing it with me before hand. So I could have a head’s up and somewhat of a plan. I do love the put on a cape attitude though 😉

Thanks Avry! It was a bit of a shock, but we can handle it for a while. Hopefully something happens soon!
