I know what you’re thinking… I know what those three words are – I Love You, of course.
Nope!
There are three more words that have made more of an impact on me than even I Love You, and I think we all could benefit from using these three words a little bit more.
The words I’m talking about are
I Appreciate You
These three words landed on my radar after I heard them from one of my DietBet coaches.
Do you know Ellen Tailor? I love her, and when I started working with her as her DietBet account manager, she said something that changed my emotional state at the time, the way I spoke to others, and how I thought about the people around me.
It was a total “aha moment” for sure.
I was juggling work, being home with the kids, family issues, etc. and the stress was getting to me. Then I started working with Ellen and she said the three words that changed my outlook from that moment on…
I Appreciate You
It’s like she flipped down my rose-colored glasses and I saw everything in a different light. The work I was doing was helping people, I knew that I had to tell all the coaches I was working with that I also appreciated them, and I also wanted to make sure to let my friends and family know as well. It was a really great feeling.
Around the same time another host, John from Obese to Beast, in his own adorable way said the same thing, “thank you for EVERYTHING you do! You are amazing!” It just really drove home the message that I needed to start letting everyone know how much I appreciate them.
It is amazing the affect it can have on people.
I saw my work performance improve, my stress level diminish, and I just felt so much happier thinking of how good I could make others feel.
It has changed my life, and months later has still stuck with me.
So to you, my readers and friends, I appreciate you.
This blog is an outlet and something I enjoy, but it doesn’t always give me much in return on the posts themselves. However, I have connected to so many of you through other social channels – my favorite being Instagram, then Twitter and Facebook, and of course, Pinterest – and that has been amazing and I’m so grateful to you all! Thank you my friends!
Do you remember to tell those around you you appreciate them?
PS, I’m not being paid to say this, it’s just a perfect fit right now. Kohl’s is celebrating the 1 year anniversary of their Yes2You rewards program with an awesome campaign to tell those around you how much they inspire you by saying #Yes2You to those people on Twitter or wherever. If you remember my Yes Moment, anything can happen with Kohls, so you never know. 🙂
