So, you have new appliances…

Or, you used some major elbow grease to make them look like new and you don’t want to do it again…

How do you keep them that way?

One of the easiest things you can do to keep clean appliances, is to use an…

oven liner!

Are you thinking… “that will work great for my oven, but what about my other appliances?”

Oven liners have more uses than you think

  • toaster ovens
  • cooking surface
  • grilling
  • microwave
  • using under any dish that might have spill-over
  • lining shelves and drawers in your refrigerator

Just today, I spent the morning cleaning our oven, microwave, and toaster oven and placed oven liners in all three!

Clean Appliances - Home True oven liners can be cut to fit all your appliances

Clean Appliances: keep them looking new

When we moved into our new house in the spring, we got all shiny and new clean appliances.

It was at the top of my list to make sure to get a liner in our oven.

Of course, we never got it in time and made a whole bunch of pizza during the remodeling process… So, we made a mess of our new oven right off the bat.

Oven Liner

There are many oven liners out there. The one I used today is from Home True.

What I love about this product is that it comes in one big 70″ roll.

You can cut it to fit your oven, toaster oven, microwave, and still have some leftover as a non-stick cooking surface, grill sheet, or liner for pans, stove tops, etc….

After cleaning the oven, I measured the bottom to just under 2 feet. I used a piece of masking tape as a guide and cut a piece from the roll.

It cuts so easily!

Once your piece is cut, you just slide it under the heating element and you’re ready to go.

When your oven gets dirty, all you have to do is remove the liner and hand wash or place it in the top rack of the dishwasher.

So much easier!

There is enough on this roll to cut three oven liners if you don’t use them for other purposes. I think I’m going to cut two. It’s so handy to have more than one!

That way, you can have one ready while washing the other one. Or, you can use one as an extra drip guard and place it on the lower rack when backing pies or cooking casseroles or pizza that may drip.

Clean Appliances - oven liners are for more than just ovens, use them in your microwave

Microwave

Microwaves can get sooo dirty!

Even though we use a plastic cover for our food, our microwave is still dirty all the time.

The worst is removing the glass plate to clean. I’m always afraid I’m going to break it! Also, if you’re putting something in the microwave it’s usually because you want something cooked quickly, and you don’t have time to mess with cleaning the glass plate.

I took another piece off our liner and created two small pieces that fit right on our microwave plate.

If you look at the Home True site, they cut the liner to a perfect circle to fit the plate.

I figure a square piece is just as good and I didn’t need to drag out a compass to make it. I did round the edges and it fits great!

Now we can easily pull out the liner to clean it when it gets dirty.

By the way… I have to show you my new favorite gadget for keeping our kitchen clean! I gave the kiddos these mini vacuums called a “Crumby” for Christmas. We all use them all the time in the kitchen to vacuum up crumbs. I love it!

Cooking Surface

Our toaster oven is a mess! We use a small pan that is a dirty mess and cover it with foil each time we cook something.

We go through a lot of foil.

With this oven liner, you can line the bottom of the toaster oven to keep it clean, but you can also use the liner as a cooking surface that is much easier to clean.

No more nasty pans and tons of wasted foil!

I used it today for my veggie burger and it works great! It’s non-stick and all you have to do is give it a quick wipe to clean it up.

There is plenty on the roll to make a cooking surface for your

  • toaster oven
  • grill
  • lining your pans
  • pizza
  • even cakes and muffins

Star players for our clean kitchen

If you are smart – like I was not – and get your entire kitchen set up when you appliances are new, they will look like new for a long time.

However, if you do have to clean your appliances, I have to share some of the star players while I was cleaning today.

Favorite kitchen cleaners - 409 degreaser, weiman glass cook top, Crumby, magic eraser

Crumby

I mentioned this already, but we love our Crumbys!

The kids have an emoji and a turtle. I love how cute they are because the kids actually like to use them. They just take a couple batteries and there is an on/off switch at the side.

They are great for little hands and super handy to have around the kitchen. I’d say I use them around the house a few times a day. I’m always grabbing one to swipe over the counters.

409 Degreaser

We came across this product when we moved into our house. It was a foreclosure, and it was dirty! The previous owners must have also cooked a lot of fried foods, because there was a thick layer of grease over the whole kitchen.

My husband brought home 409 Degreaser from Menards and it helped us scrape through the grease big time. We still use it for all our tough cleaning.

Stovetop Cleaner

Cook Top Cleaner

One of my favorite things to clean in our stove top.

It’s not that it’s so easy and I love any sort of cleaning, but it is so rewarding!

This Cook Top Cleaner that we have gets everything out and has that thing looking so shiny!

While cleaning today, I used it on the glass doors for the oven and toaster oven too. It has a bit of abrasiveness which really helps and it gets the glass so shiny.

Magic Eraser

Who doesn’t know about these amazing things!?

Is there anything a Magic Eraser can’t do?

I honestly never worry when I see pen, crayon, marker, or who knows what on the walls, tables, chairs or counters. The Magic Eraser makes everything better.

It helped scrub some of the baked on grease, but it still takes a good amount of elbow grease.

I’ve heard these sponges are the same as the generic melamine sponges and you can get an insane amount for cheap on Amazon. I was thisclose to doing that when we moved into our house, but I never did.

Let me know if you have bought the generic versions and if you would recommend them!
