Tell us about your family

I’m a stay at home/mommy blogger of four children. Kye is 9, Britt is 7, Tess is 4 and Spear just turned one. We added Spear to our family through domestic adoption and he is the perfect completion piece to our family puzzle!

As a mom, what is the best part of your day?

Tucking the kids in at night is my quality time one-on-one with each of them. A chance that they can share their hearts while we also share snuggles.

3 Words that describe your parenting style?

Faith, Structure, Fun

What is a parenting rule you never break?

Making sure my kids always know I love them, no matter what

What is a parenting rule you always break?

I often forget to have them wear a jacket to school when it’s cold!

How do you prioritize family-time and me-time?

Me-time is very important. You can’t pour from an empty cup! I wake up an hour before the kids get up in order to have time for prayer, gratitude, work on things for myself and get ready for the day. As a family we travel often as a way to truly spend quality time together making memories.

What is your go-to, easy weeknight meal?

Crock-pot everything! I freeze crock-pot ready meals so I can just toss ’em in and be good to go!

What is your favorite family activity?

Disney World. We own a rental property near the parks and are annual pass holders. It’s our happiest place to be!

What advice would you give new moms?

Babywise. It changed my life and made me the parent I am today in so many ways. Sleep is crucial and routine and structure are a gift to give your children…and yourself.

What is your best Mom money-saving tip?

Dave Ramsey Total Money Makeover is a life changing book. I personally only shop sales, if it’s full price then I don’t buy it!

Do you have any tips for staying on top of household chores?

We have the kids do many of the chores around the house. They earn commission for them and are learning to budget from early ages. We are a family who all live in our home so we all work hard to keep our home nice so we all benefit and can enjoy it!

Do you make a point to stay healthy and fit? If so, how do you fit it into your busy lifestyle?

My husband was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis so eating healthy has become more of a priority for our family than ever before. We are mindful of taking supplements and vitamins every day and making sure our children eat a healthy, well-balance diet. It doesn’t take more time or energy than eating un-healthy! Once it’s part of our routines it becomes second nature.

Family Travel: What is your favorite spot or family travel memory?

We love to travel as a family. Disney World is our favorite place and we go as often as we possibly can! It is just truly magical and watching our children light up with that joy is like nothing else. We took our three oldest kids to Disneyland in California this past year and it was an EPIC trip. Their first flights, visiting the Pacific, so many experiences together and it really made us all want to do more traveling in the future.
