Name: Marrah

Number of children and age: I am the mother of one beautiful son Remmington. 😊He is also a CDH survivior!

Are you a SAHM, WAHM, or do you work outside the home? I work a few days out of the home. Soon I will be Zumba certified though and my schedule is subject to change!

Describe you background as it relates to health and fitness.

I smoked for over 15 years, and when I became pregnant with my son I quit! I am two years smoke free now!

I was also able to pick up running again because I quit smoking, which led to becoming a Fitfam ambassador, running competitively, as well as a SweatPink ambassador! I also go for my Zumba certificate next week.

Also while pregnant with Remmy I had Gestational Diabetes, which was very hard but I ate carefully, poked my finger three times a day, but stayed off insulin the whole time!! My son also had a milk allergy when he was younger, so I am a PRO at reading labels between my GD and his allergy!

I am very into nutrition, GD help, running and fitness now! My son not only changed my life in traditional ways but also many other ways!!

When do you fit in your physical fitness?

I work out at least 5 times a week, sometimes it’s a solo run when my bf is home, or a run with my son in the jogging stroller. In between my runs I do strength training at home when little man is napping or incorporating him in my workouts!

How do you make healthy eating a priority?

I always read labels, we don’t do microwave meals, we do lots of fresh fruits and veggies. In the summer we utilize our farmers markets and also have our own garden. I also do a lot of online health food shopping such as Thrive Market.

How do you get your kids involved in a healthy lifestyle?

My son watches us live an active lifestyle, and we like to take him for walks, bike rides, stroller runs, and walks to the park!

What is your biggest struggle?

Ha, my biggest struggle is to find the time to continue doing everything!

What is your biggest accomplishment as a mom?

One of my biggest accomplishments as a Mom is  staying smoke free and helping him through his CDH problems.

What is your biggest accomplishment in regards to health and fitness?

My biggest accomplishments in health and fitness is staying insulin free, placing second in my first competitive run at age 31, and being an ambassador of two awesome companies!!!

What are your three tips for those who are struggling?

My three best tips are-

1.  the more exercise you do the more energy you acquire

2. quit smoking or stay smoke free the best thing you can do for your health

3. start small, make small changes and work up! I recently helped a girl to start losing weight, and we started small!
