Two years ago we had the birthday party to rival all birthday parties. At the time, when I was putting it all together, I was just praying the bunch of 7-year-old boys would get into it.

It was a lot of work to come up with the 7 spy missions for the new 7 year old. I stressed about it for weeks. It also took a decent amount of time to prepare the house and setup the missions. But it was all worth it!

New! Check out these easy secret codes for kids and enter for a chance to win the Explorer Academy book series! Enter by 3/28!

Those boys had a blast! The missions went so smoothly and they really had a great time figuring out the clues. We couldn’t have asked for anything better.

This year, our not-so-little guy is turning 9. With social distancing during this pandemic we are just able to reminisce about past friend birthday parties.

This spy party will always top the list! Don’t get me wrong, Urban Air and Minnesota Children’s Museum are up there too! However, this one makes me so proud.

Check out our Spy Party Birthday – The setup, supplies, and how it went!

Spy Party

The great thing about a spy party birthday is that you can do it right in your home. It’s very easy to setup and extremely inexpensive. The spy missions keep the kids entertained during the entire party. (We gave it two and a half hours and it was perfect.)

If you’re stuck home like us and practicing social distancing, these spy missions are also something really special and fun you can do for your kiddos at home. They’ll love it!

7 Original Spy Missions

For our Spy Birthday Party, we had 7 missions because our Birthday Boy was turning 7. You can check out that post for all the setup involved and what each mission entails.

Since this is still an activity we look back on fondly, and we know many others have used these spy missions to create their own parties, we want to do something to make it a little easier!

So, how about some easily printable spy missions? Sounds good right!

Even better, since our Secret Agent is 9, we have added two more bonus spy missions for you!

Spy Missions Order

The order of these spy missions is up to you.

The two bonus missions will fit in nicely anywhere within your setup. You can also use them as options for swapping out other missions.

They’re not numbered, so mix them up and put them in the order that works best for you.

I’ll put them here in the order we used them, and add the two bonus spy missions and descriptions at the end.

Spy Party with 7 Fun Missions

Spy Mission #1

This is easily set up with red yarn, black hats, fake mustaches, glasses, etc.

Spy Mission #7

Whether it’s number 7 or not, this will be your last spy mission. It’s a great way to get all the spies to end the party celebrating the birthday boy or girl.

I love the idea of adding dynamite candles or little magnifying glass cupcake toppers for an easy spy touch!

Spy Party Clue 7 - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

If your spy missions are a part of a spy birthday party, you can use this printable to make your final mission a chance to celebrate the Birthday boy or girl.

Write their name on this sheet and cut it into pieces. Place each piece into your spy mission envelopes to give as clues after each completed mission.

Spy Party - final clue

If you’re just planning a very fun spy day, you can change up this final clue however you’d like. You can write a dessert on the sheet of paper and the kids get it at the end of the day. You can have a certain prize and write that on your clue. It can signal a fun outing or special treat – whatever you’d like!

Bonus Spy Missions!

Ok, here they are! The two bonus spy missions. (Maybe even three…)

These are great to have if you want to substitute them for another spy mission. Or, they can be added for the birthday of an 8 or 9 year old.

Spy Mission #8

If your house is anything like ours, you’ll have some Nerf Guns floating around. This makes it very easy to set up a quick target practice!

Gather up some foam darts, Nerf guns, and create some kind of target for a very simple extra spy mission.

Spy Party Bonus Clue 8 - Target Practice

Spy Mission #9

This spy mission is essentially a game of telephone. The spies will whisper the code from one to the other and try to get it correct from the first person to the last.

Spy Party Bonus Clue 9 - know the code

One more Bonus!

We didn’t have this game at the time of our party, but it would make a great spy mission!

We love the game Break Free. It would be a fantastic – and easy! – Spy Mission or addition to any party. The game includes 4 sets of handcuffs with locks. It also includes easy to hard mazes you place inside the handcuffs. Then, you insert the key and have to find just the right path to unlock yourself.

It’s so fun and it would be a great addition to a Spy Party!

Print all of the Spy Missions!

Download all 9 Spy Missions and the Final Clue.

I suggest printing the Final Clue full size, but setting your printer to print the 9 spy missions two per page. That way, they can easily fit inside the smaller 6 x 9 envelopes.

I also love the idea of placing all your spy mission envelopes in a hard briefcase like this one. It will be such a great look for the party!

    1. Hi there, Tam! We did this when my son was 7 and he’s 9 now, so I have to guess at this point. I think we had our dining room table filled, so it was about 6 kids. It felt like the perfect number, but I would say with more or less it would work out just fine!

Thank you so much and please keep me posted if you throw a spy party of your own!
