Whether your big day is on the horizon, you will be a bridesmaid, or you just offer to help with all the little things that may get overlooked, I have a fantastic tool to help the wedding day go off without a hitch:
The Wedding Day Survival Kit
So much gets overlooked in the planning of a wedding, and when that day comes, you can bet there will be hiccups. This kit should help get you through any minor emergency.

One of the best bridesmaid gifts I ever received was a bridesmaid survival kit. Inside a cute little pouch were all sorts of clever supplies to make sure nothing could go wrong on the big day. I saw girls using the tissues and bobby pins, and we even fixed a broken shoe strap with safety pins and double sided tape!
Now, whenever there is a wedding, I make sure to bring that kit along or make my own Wedding Day Survival kit for the big day.
You can order these things online, checkout the travel section, or even pick up quite a few from the dollar store.

There are plenty of options to personalize your own kit. If you know the bride is a cryer, pack it full of extra tissues, makeup remover, and mascara. If you have a more rowdy wedding party, pack some plastic shot glasses and a bottle opener.
This is a Fall wedding and I got a pencil case on clearance for 25 cents, so I’ll be making a smaller kit, but the plastic tubs the size of a shoebox would be a great option if you need more space. Print out the picture below and jazz up the top. It would also be helpful to add a list of the contents, so when the emergency moments arrive, the wedding party know what they will find inside.

On the wedding day anything can happen, so you may have to channel MacGyver with some of these items. I was in a wedding where a bridesmaid’s shoe came completely apart and they fixed it with double-sided tape and a bandaid. I could totally see using a panty liner for a rubbing shoe or dress in a pinch! 🙂

I got everything for my kit from Walmart. I was going to go to the dollar store and put it all together, but Walmart ended up being the better option because everything was a dollar or under.
If you’re not into making your own, I’ve got you covered at the bottom of this page. They sell kits for the bride, groom, and bridesmaids. I got a bridesmaid kit in one of the firsts weddings I was in and I still take that thing to other weddings. It also can be a great gift for the bride-to-be on the big day, at the shower, or at the bachelorette party.
