I love to take a walk!
I’ve been making some big changes. Both for my physical and mental health.
I attribute these fantastic changes to one thing…
Taking the time as a mom to take a walk is amazing.
I’ve been feeling better physically.
I have more energy. I’ve been losing weight. My body moves better.
Even more importantly, I’ve been feeling better mentally.
Taking the time for myself each day leaves me feeling amazing. The time with my own thoughts, to breathe in fresh air, enjoy the peace and quiet – it’s incredible.
No more running
Shortly after the kids were born, I got into running for the first time in my life.
The kids were in a stroller, and it was a great way to get us all out of the house. We all felt better after getting out for a while.
During those early years, we really prioritized living a healthy live and setting a healthy example.
Things change
Unfortunately, after a while, my knees couldn’t handle running any longer. The kids outgrew the stroller, our lives got busy, and Mom got out of shape.
Can anyone relate?
These last few years have been a struggle. Life with kids, school, work, etc. just seemed to speed up. Next thing you know, I wasn’t proud of the example I was setting any longer…
Walking is something everyone can do!
Joint Health
As I mentioned, my knees were a big reason for my break with running, and I have definitely become more sedentary…
This Spring I decided I was going to go for regular walks for both my physical and mental health.
Unfortunately, even those easy walks were making my knee pain flair up. I was still committed, but it just wasn’t a comfortable experience.
Fortunately, getting out regularly, hydration, collagen, and supplements have been making a huge difference!
Ostinol Insta Joint
In addition to a large focus on my hydration for the day, and adding a bit of collagen to my morning coffee, I’ve been trying Ostinol Insta Joint.
I can’t believe the difference all this has been making on my walks! I’ve been getting out at least 4 times a week and walking an average of 3 miles a day or about an hour at a time without being uncomfortable because of my knee pain.
Ostinol Insta Joint helps support the body’s ability to grow new cartilage tissue for additional nutrients to nourish and lubricate. It is all natural, safe, and effective, as well as non-GMO, gluten and grain free. The patented key ingredient, Cyplexinol, is a 100% natural protein complex sourced from USDA Certified organic bovine bone.
Save 30% on each bottle of Ostinol Insta Joint (limit 5) on ostinol.com with promo code MM30.
Offer is valid until 9/1/21.
While I have felt fantastic improvements, and I believe Ostinol Insta Joint has helped, I can’t solely contribute the improvements to that alone. The folks at Ostinol also share this disclaimer: While people with severe joint conditions have reported great response with our products, Ostinol is a natural supplement and cannot encourage discussion that would imply treating, preventing, or curing any disease.
After weeks of walking, taking supplements, and focusing on hydration, I have to say things have been much better.
My walks are a joy and something I look forward to for so many reason. All moms should take a walk and make time for themselves!
5 Reasons moms should take a walk
It’s easy!
The great thing about walking is that it can be so easy. You don’t need special equipment, you don’t need to prepare, you really don’t even have to change your clothes.
Just walk out the door.
That being said, I do like to don some workout clothes, make sure my phone is charged, grab my ear buds and running belt if I don’t have pockets… but the point is, you could just walk out the door.
Keep it simple and just get out there.
Time to yourself
As moms we are constantly overstimulated with the needs of others. Thinking about everyone’s needs first, being climbed on or touched all day long, not having time for ourselves…
We need this!
The mental exhaustion of motherhood is very real. I have found that taking this time away allows me to have that time to myself without guilt or interruption.
Schedule it in, have someone else watch the kids, and escape for a bit to recharge. You deserve it!
Tune out or Tune in
One of the best parts about taking a walk is deciding how you want to experience it while you’re out there.
Do you want to escape it all, walk in silence, and just enjoy nature?
Do you want to crank up your favorite tunes to go along with your mood? Upbeat, relaxing, angry, sad, happy… Pick a feeling and go for it!
Do you want to catch up on a great audio book or interesting podcast?
For me, I have been obsessed with listening to motivational stories from others on the WayBetter podcast Better by the Day. I listen to others who have changed their lives and are reaching their health and welness goals and it gets me so pumped and motivated to do the same!
It’s such a good feeling!
Return better than you left
We know it. We’ve heard it. You can’t pour from an empty cup.
Taking this time for yourself will have you returning better than you left. You will be a better mom, partner, or friend when you allow time for self-care.
Each night when I return from my walk I feel like a new person!
My soul, my brain, and my body are all recharged.
If you can schedule the time away, remember that it will be well worth it. Don’t put it off. Don’t let others’ needs come first.
You 100% deserve it and it will benefit everything and everyone around you!
Health
Of course, we can’t discount the health benefits of a walk!
Regular movement is so fantastic.
Getting your heartrate up, building your endurance, expanding your mobility and range of motion… all of it is great!
Walking is good for mood, blood pressure, bones, weight loss, heart, sleep, brain, etc… It’s amazing.
What do you think, Moms?
Do you feel better after a walk?
Have I convinced you to schedule some time, make it happen, and that all moms should take a walk?
