Summer is here after a looong year of distance learning.

I’m proud of our little family for making it through, and now we get to celebrate and relax with Summer Vacation!

One of the things my kiddos always ask to do during the summer is to stay in their pjs all day.

Granted, we could have done that this year learning from home, but we stuck to a routine and got up and dressed every day.

We also don’t let this happen much in the summer, so a pajama day is still pretty special.

Sure, you could just let the kiddos stay in their jammies, but why not make a day out of it?

Ideas for Pajama Day

The key to Pajama Day is to keep it simple and keep it relaxing.

Don’t get too crazy. A pajama day is a perfect excuse to take it easy.

However, here are a couple simple ideas for pajama day that are very easy to pull off.

Special Breakfast / Breakfast meals

Pajama Day calls for a special breakfast. Or maybe even breakfast for lunch.

I love the idea of making this Breakfast Pizza or egg wrap to bring breakfast into lunchtime. These apple donuts make for a perfect pajama day snack. We also love Mug Muffins for an easy treat.

You can also lean into the “sleepover” idea which is more popcorn and candy. This sweet popcorn is the perfect mix!

Whether you choose to go the breakfast route, or sleepover route, you can easily add a little fun to your pajama day meals.

Sleep Masks

My son always sleeps with a sleep mask. It’s the funniest thing because he has to have his diffuser light on, but he will cover his eyes with a mask and his head with the blankets.

We bought this huge pack of sleep masks from Amazon. They would be a great way to make a pajama day special, or great for school pajama days or sleepovers! Making a paper sleep mask is also a very easy idea for pajama day.

Paper Sleep Mask Art Project – All you need is a piece of construction paper to draw the shape, decorate, and cut out. Then, punch two holes and add yarn to tie behind the head.

Pajama Day Activities

The best part about a pajama day is that it’s a day of rest. You don’t have to get too over the top with ideas for pajama day activities. Just keep it simple and relaxing.

Build a Fort – Keep it simple with pillows and blankets or do something amazing like this Starry Night Air Fort!!
Start a Dream Journal – Decorate or buy a journal in a night-time theme and have the kiddos write or draw some of their dreams.
Bedsheet Parachute – If your pajama day includes a lot of friends, cousins, or a classroom, use a bedsheet to play parachute games!
Coloring – Color some pajamas or just stick with the quite time theme and spend some time coloring.

Movies

What is a pajama day without movies?

Really any movie will do, but here are a few suggestions:

Sleeping Beauty – Classic.
Bedtime Stories – My kiddos love this movie and have watched it over and over.
Bedknobs and Broomsticks – The kids haven’t seen this one yet, but I remember loving it.
The Sleepover – This is on Netflix and we watched it recently and thought it was pretty cute.
Alice in Wonderland – A dreamland to inspire some great ideas for more pajama day projects!

Books

Depending on the age of your kiddos the stories will be different, but pajama day is a great time to get some cozy reading in.

Here are some ideas for pajama day books:

Llama Llama Red Pajama – It’s a must! These books are so sweet.
Fancy Nancy Pajama Day – Perfect fit!
Pajama Pirates – This looks very cute.
Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late – These books are such hits with kids and so fun to read.
Pajama Day – Pajama Day at school, but Emma forgot!
The Nocturnals: The Mysterious Abductions – A book series for ages 6-9
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas – Teachers pick for ages 9-12
Finn and the Time-Traveling Pajamas – Second book in the Finniverse series for ages 10-12

No matter what book, movie, or activity you choose, the most important part are the pajamas!

Pact Dream Big Pajamas

We have new favorite pjs over here! Once again, through Moms Meet, we were introduced to a great company with products and practices we appreciate.

Pact Dream Big Pajamas are sold in adorable sets of two with a solid and patterned pair of pjs.

For our kiddos, who are 8 and 9 (or 10 in a few weeks), we ordered the largest size which is a 10 in Rainbows / Tea Rose and Oceans / Stellar Blue.

The patterns are completely adorable, and I didn’t think the plain colors would look just as cute, but they do! Both kids look comfy and sweet!

Pact Dream Big pajamas start at size 18 months. You can match up all the kids!

My kiddos have already worn these pjs more than any others they have, and have worn and washed each set twice in a short time. That says a lot.

It helps that the pajamas are prewashed and shrink resistant, so I was thrilled to see they came out of the wash looking just as great as when they went in.

We absolutely love the quality feel of these pjs. You know how you just know?

They are both soft and thick, but cool enough to be worn in the summer. They are also made of organic cotton and are Fair Trade Certified.

Pact Practices

Part of the reasons we love these pajamas – the quality and feel alone are enough – is because Pact is one of those companies you can feel proud to support.

Pact partners with Fair Trade to ensure safe conditions, protect the environment, build sustainable livelihoods, and provide additional money to empower and uplift their communities.

Certified Organic by the Global Organic Textile Standard which promises sustainable clothing through the health of soils, ecosystems, and people by using organic farming processes.

Organic cotton uses 91% LESS water than conventional cotton and it is used without toxic chemicals which keeps our water clean.
