I’m in a constant state of wondering if I’m a breakfast person. Sometimes, especially when the kids are in school, I can get right to work and completely forget breakfast. Other times, I wake up with a rumbling tummy.

Especially if you’re learning and making a plan for weight loss, you often hear about the important of breakfast. However, in the most recent plan I tested, we saw that the idea that breakfast is the most important meal of the day is a myth. The research doesn’t really support it.

However, that doesn’t work for everyone.

If you’re a breakfast fan, you find yourself very hungry in the mornings, or especially if skipping breakfast starts you off on the wrong foot and leads to poor decisions the rest of the day, the best idea is to meal prep some healthy and delicious options!

Breakfast Meal Prep

We are no strangers to make-ahead breakfast ideas. My husband has a breakfast sandwich everyday. They’re not exactly the healthiest breakfast meal prep option, but we do have a lot of suggestions for variations in this post. It’s also one of our absolute most popular posts. Even though we always loved and swore by those breakfast sandwiches, we also found an even faster way to make them each morning.

If you’re meal prepping, don’t forget to thing about breakfast! It starts you off on the right foot and has you ready for a great day.

The following ideas will give you a huge arsenal of breakfast meal prep recipes to prep ahead for better mornings.

Meal Prep Containers

Half the battle of meal prep is finding the right containers. Everyone is different and has different preferences, but you have to find what works for you.

Glass containers are definitely right up there in cleanliness and safety. In my cluttered kitchen, glass just doesn’t stack and store away as well as plastic, but we are working on making the switch.

For now, we use a lot of these Rubbermaid containers containers.

Silicone is another material that is right up there as safer and cleaner. There are some fantastic silicone storage containers right now. I absolutely love the collapsible containers and silicone bags because of how little space they take up.

One of the easiest meal prep containers is actually glass mason jars. You can get them in a variety of sizes, the seal very well to prevent leaks, and you can remove the lid and pop them right in the microwave. If you’re thrifty like myself, any glass jar or food container can be washed up and used for your breakfast meal prep.
