Well hello! It’s so great to finally catch up again! How has your Fall been so far?
We started the new school year off on a very difficult note. Middle School anxiety and legit panic attacks hit hard. It was heartbreaking, but after a couple months we have found our groove and I feel like we can breathe.
Some very fun recent news is that The Little Cabin has finally neared completion. If you want to see the progress, you can check my Instagram highlight. We’ve been able to stay there two weekends, and I absolutely love it!
We would have likely stayed more, but had to miss a couple due to being hit by the dreaded virus. So, there we were dealing with rough mornings and school days with anxiety, not even two weeks into the kids first year without masks, and it go us. It was bound to happen, and we all fared well, but it’s just another reason this school year started off with quite the bang!
Now, we’re soaking up the gorgeous fall weather, the gorgeous fall sights, and really enjoying the season.
But… I’ve got to tell you… As cute as our Halloween decorations are, we might be itching for Christmas!
There is one of us who is never on board. He will remain nameless, but I will say he is the tallest one in the family and we often rely on that height for decorations. Therefore, there is often a lot of nagging involved before some of the decorations make their debut.

Transitional Holiday Light Decor
This year, I’m very proud of this brilliant idea I had to make the switch easier! I was offered this Christmas Tree Light to test. I chose it because it has the same shape as the giant spider web I can occasionally convince my husband to hang for Halloween.
So, I figure, we can get by with hanging the light in October and having it right there ready to go for Christmas. All we need to do is cover it with the spiderweb and it will light it up until Halloween and pull double duty as Halloween to Christmas lights!
Brilliant, no?!
This brilliance was further confirmed today when my son announced that since tomorrow is Halloween that means there are only two more days until Christmas music and decorations. The Grinch Who Shall Remain Nameless grumbled something similar to a Bah Humbug.
But… I know that all we need to do is remove the spiderweb and the Christmas lights are right there ready to go! What can he complain about?
We are loving the look of this Christmas light! It’s beautiful and bright. It’s also easy to hang and comes with small stakes for each strand of lights.
Our only complaint is that the instructions are a little lacking and we thought our remote was broken until we learned you have to point directly at the receptacle which is where the light plugs in. For us, that’s behind a table but I have gotten the hang of it.
It would also be really fun to be able to designated one color, such as purple, orange, or green for Halloween or to match our Christmas décor, but it is nice that you can choose between multi-color or white. The white is very clean, bright and pretty. The multi-colored lights are also beautiful and sharp since they’re LEDs.

Halloween Lights
I definitely recommend making your holiday décor pull double-duty! As fun as it is, it can be a pain to put up and put away, especially since that time of year is so busy!
This Christmas Tree Light works really great with a giant spider web for Halloween! I believe I go ours on clearance at Target after Halloween. Some sets come with a large spider, which is great for covering the star at the top of the lights. We also love it with an extra large 6 foot spider.
It’s very easy to put up the Christmas lights and then hang the spider web in the same way. The light perfectly illuminates the web and all the creepy spiders!

Christmas Lights
I have a little better luck getting our own Scrooge to take down holiday decorations that I do getting help putting them up.
Luckily, this year, I don’t have to beg for both the takedown of spiderwebs and putting up Christmas lights.
It’s ready to go!
I’m looking forward to taking our Halloween to Christmas lights and seeing our Christmas Tree Lights completely on their own and switching to the mulit-colored lights. It’s just so traditional Christmas decor and the kids will love it!
We don’t typically hang Christmas lights because it’s a lot of work! So, this is a great way to get that traditional light look but easier.
In the past we’ve done the laser light on our house. However, they’ve recently updated the streetlights to LEDs and I noticed last year that it just isn’t dark enough for the laser light to really shine.
The Christmas Tree Lights have different settings, so I think we’ll have just as much fun with it as we did with the laser light. There are also a couple different timer settings to work with, so hopefully I’ll find one I like – which is usually mostly on with a bit of time off during the day.
