Tell us about your family:

I’m a wife and mostly stay-at-home mom to a 3-year boy, Frankie. I’m also an online trainer and blogger.

As a mom, what is the best part of your day?

The best part of my day is when I put Frankie down for a nap. He is the best cuddler and I even fall asleep with him sometimes when I need a little extra rest.

3 Words that describe your parenting style?

My style is adventurous, and affectionate and laid-back.

What is a parenting rule you never break?

I don’t think there is one. I try to be very disciplined but you can’t always abide by all the rules.

What is a parenting rule you always break?

Trying to get Frankie to eat healthy all the time, because sometimes a threenager wins and you let him have a bowl of pretzels for dinner.

How do you prioritize family-time and me-time?

One of our top priorities that we have as a family is being there for each other, which may include saying no to things that we just can’t do. Frankie goes to nursery school 3 days a week so that gives me time to do some work and get things done around the house. I prioritize my workouts whether I’m training for a marathon or just including more strength training into my routine. That may mean my piles of laundry may be gigantic, or my nail polish is chipped because I can’t make it to the nail salon…but exercise is a huge priority not only for my physical health but also for my mental health, and it’s something we want Frankie to grow up with and value.

What is your go-to, easy weeknight meal?

I love, love easy healthy meals that I can make in less than 30 minutes. I love doing sheet pan meals so, for example, I’ll take chicken breasts, sweet potatoes and maybe zucchini and carrots and roast everything with some olive oil, a little salt, maybe some Italian seasoning. And you have a quick healthy meal that is also super easy to clean. Bonus.

What is your favorite family activity?

I love when the 3 of us play a game together after my husband gets home from work, like hide and seek. Or on the weekends when we can all go for a run or walk in our neighborhood.

What advice would you give new moms?

I would tell a new mom to not worry about trying to do it all or do it all perfectly. Figure out the top 2 or 3 things that are most important to your family and focus on those. What can you sacrifice? What can you splurge on? For us, we hire a cleaning service that helps us once a month. That takes a big pressure off my shoulders leaving me to just maintain the house in between cleanings. I’m so not a Pinterest-perfect type of mom and that’s ok, that’s not where my priorities lie.

Do you make a point to stay healthy and fit? If so, how do you fit it into your busy lifestyle?

I love this question because as a fitness professional, this is definitely in my wheelhouse. I tell my clients that it’s not about killing yourself at the gym for an hour with ineffective workouts; it’s about being consistent and moving your body for at least 20 minutes a few times a week and eating as clean as possible. It’s also crucial to listen to do your body and make sure you’re working on imbalances and restrictions so that you don’t end up with an injury. An injured mama is definitely no fun for anyone.

Family Travel: What is your favorite spot or family travel memory?

We go to Cape May every summer with my husband’s family and it’s become a tradition now over the past few years. It’s nice for Frankie to spend time with his cousins and enjoy a more carefree lifestyle at the beach.

Do you have a can’t-live-without Mom/family products to share?

I probably would not be where I am without my trusty BOB stroller and the ability to get out for runs with Frankie!
