We had the most amazing time at Disney on Ice: Mickey’s search party! Both adult, teenager, 6-year-old girl, and 7-year-old boy all loved it!

We are a Disney family, no doubt. If we lived in Florida, we’d be annual passholders and visit Disney on the regular. Unfortunately, Minnesota is a bit far from my happy place. That’s why you see so much Disney magic sprinkled into our daily lives.

So, when there is another way for us to get a little taste of the Disney magic, we take it! We have been to two Disney on Ice shows this year, and have had such a great time!
We’ve been so fortunate to have been able to partner with Carrie the Moment Sales and Events. She has the hook up for great discounts on family events in Minnesota. Since we worked with her in the past for our first Disney on Ice show, we were all set to work with her again when Carrie gave us a big surprise!

Disney on Ice: Mickey’s Search Party PRE-PARTY!
We are still pinching ourselves over the party Carrie invited us to before Disney on Ice: Mickey’s Search Party. It was such an amazing night!
Not only did all five of us get to see Disney on Ice: Mickey’s Search Party, but we got the chance to meet the awesome people who put on these events and have such a fun night!
The kids spotted a goody bag right when we walked in the door, and immediately put on their ears. Little Lady made a beeline to the face painting and fun hair station! We all had a great time eating, visiting, getting photos taken, and getting excited for the show.
It was so much fun to see a bunch of other local bloggers and influencers and their kiddos!

Little Lady and I have seen one Disney on Ice show before. However, in typical Disney fashion, this newer show was even better and more awe-inspiring! If you can only see one Disney on Ice show – make sure it’s Mickey’s Search Party!

Disney on Ice: Mickey’s Search Party is so much more than ice skating! It’s like being at a Cirque du Soleil show on ice! There are acrobatics,
aerial tricks, trampolines, jumps, and some things that can’t even be explained!
This show will be entertaining for anyone! In our family of two adults, one teenager, and a 6 and 7 year old every single person was enthralled and would go back in a heartbeat!
Straight out of the gate, they have some performers on hover boards right on the ice! These performers aren’t just ice skaters. Anyone who loves acrobatics will love when performers climb ropes, hang from ribbons, and flip into the air. Did you notice Aladdin on the rope in the previous photo? Those who like extreme sports will love when the jumps come out with Kristof and his friends. Anyone who loves Disney and loves being transported through all the magic, will be in heaven.
It really has something for everyone, and I would recommend this even to people without kids.

When Disney on Ice: Mickey’s Search Party Ends
One of the smart things Disney does is have performers warming up the crowd just before the crowd, as well as having a little something to show everyone who is in no hurry to leave.
At the end of the show, an announcement is made for those who are able to stay to see a little bit of behind the scenes magic. This is so smart. It thinned out the crowd by more than half. It’s understandable that many small children can’t stay at that late hour, but if you’re able to stay it really helps with the crowds as everyone leaves.
The two main skaters who help narrate the show stay out and also bring out a few of the performers. They talk about where they’re from – one was from Minnesota! – and give a little insight into their life as a performer. You also get to learn a little bit about the costumes, lighting, and stunts. It’s pretty interesting.
Even if you’re not particularly interested in the inter-workings of the show, you will have a much easier time on your way out. I’d say only about 1/3 of the audience was left when we exited and we had no problems with crowds or traffic as we left.

Who should see Disney on Ice: Mickey’s Search Party?
It should come as no surprise that my answer to this one is…. EVERYBODY! There really is no age I can think of that wouldn’t enjoy this.
Very small children are remarkably entertained, but it’s an audience full of kids and it’s not a problem if they’re noisy or moving around.
Teenagers will also enjoy themselves. We took a 15-year-old girl to the show and she enjoyed it just as much as the kids.
Even your too-cool-for-school older boy will enjoy this show. Our 7-year-old boy likes Disney like his mom. But, even if you have a boy who thinks it will just be a princess show for young kids, he will be very surprise! He’ll love the acrobatics, flying through the air, and the extreme skating with jumps and obstacles.
There is not a person in the family who can’t find something to love about Disney on Ice: Mickey’s Search Party!
This show is beyond gorgeous! I mean, look at the fire from Te Fiti! It’s so unique, and not your typical “on ice” show. This is really spectacular and Disney really outdid themselves!
