One night I was thisclose to falling asleep. I had just been looking at Pinterest and pinning all sorts of fun Disney bounding looks and Minnie ears.

I’ve told you all before, this Momma is going through some serious Disney withdrawal!

Pinterest and Instagram are getting me through, and I thought a good Disney project wouldn’t hurt either.

So… back to late one night as I was up on my phone way too late…

I started thinking about all the cute leather earrings everyone has been wearing lately. Inspiration struck and I flipped to an empty page in my planner, turned on the light on my bedside diffuser, and started filling the pages with Disney character earring designs.

I think I finally got to bed around 2 am – I was having so much fun!

Cut to the next day when I on Amazon looking up colored leather pieces and the price of Silhouette and Circut cutting tools…

Maybe I’m not ready for all that just yet! For the moment, those supplies don’t fit into the budget.

Hey there! I realize I don’t have many pictures of myself on here. I’m super uncomfortable in front of the camera, so you’ll have to settle for a goofy faced selfie with some cute Winnie the Pooh DIY felt earrings!

Christopher Robin movie

I am loving all the live-action movie remakes Disney is coming out with lately. How sweet does the new Christopher Robin movie look!?!

I remember catching Winnie the Pooh on the Disney Channel free weekends when I was little. It was such a treat.

Does anyone else remember how special it felt when we got the Disney channel for free!?!

My own kiddos haven’t really gotten into Winnie the Pooh. I’ve tried, but some things just don’t always take with kids.

They have, however, been just as excited as me about all the Christopher Robin trailers that have been coming out. We’re all looking forward to this one!

Disney crafts and treats help with the Disney vacation withdrawal

The kids and I have been having fun getting ready for new Disney movies with a treat or a craft. We’ve done Coco color-changing bracelets and Frozone Floats most recently.

We have some fun things planned for the remakes of Mary Poppins and Dumbo coming up too!

This time around I wanted to do some Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore earrings.

The kids didn’t mind a project for Mom, they just love any type of craft. They want to keep going with all the other Disney characters.

DIY Felt Earrings

The new Christopher Robin movie, with the adorable, fuzzy Winnie the Pooh characters, is the perfect chance to play around with these DIY felt earrings.

Instead of trying to find some leather or faux leather, I opted for super easy to find felt. It comes in all sorts of colors, it’s inexpensive, and it has that cute and fuzzy look that is perfect for the 100 acre woods friends.

Just like the leather earrings, they are light and comfortable.

Unlike the the leather earrings, anyone can find a rainbow of colors in felt from the craft store or Amazon – where I found mine.

These are so fun to make ans surprisingly nice looking with the felt. The perfect addition to a Disney bounding outfit or just a nod to your favorite character.

Winnie the Pooh DIY Felt Earrings

Winnie the Pooh

The first character we made had to be Pooh. I thought about going the subdued colors from the Christopher Robin movie, but decided to go with the more well-known brighter colors.

With yellow felt, fold the felt in half – to help with symmetry – and cut out a large teardrop shape. Tip: if you fold it like a triangle, right at a corner, you can cut a triangle first and shape it into a teadrop.

Next, use red felt and make a smaller teardrop or triangle shape to look like Pooh’s shirt.

The felt makes it very easy to insert your earring hooks. It also helps a lot to have a small pair of needle nose pliers.

You can order a pack of earring hooks on Amazon. I have a jewelry back-up or repair kit that had as many as I needed. This kit has really come in handy for tightening up loose rings or finding extra earring backs.

Tigger DIY Felt Earrings - fun and easy for Disney Bounding

Tigger

The shape of the Tigger earrings is the easiest to make since they’re basically rectangles. To give them a little more interest – and tail-like quality – it looks nice to round the corners and make the bottom slightly larger than the top.

To add the stripes to the orange felt, I just used a Sharpie.

They look a little Fred Flinstone to me, so I think I would try them with stripes only one one side the next time. But, I think they still look like cute little Tigger tails.

DIY Felt Earrings - making Piglet inspired earrings

Piglet

The piglet shape is a teardrop similar to the Winnie the Pooh shape. I make it a little smaller since Piglet is the smallest one.

As with the Pooh earring, fold the corner of a piece of light pink felt, and cut a triangle into a teardrop shape. Then, with a darker pink, cut another teardrop just a bit smaller than the first.

To add the stripes of Piglets belly, use a dark pink or purple pen. You could also sew across the felt with a pink or purple thread.

Piglet DIY Felt Earrings

Eeyore

Eeyore was the last one I made because I was definitely orverthinking it and wanted to make a full-out Eeyore tail. In the end, adding the bow and another color on the end seems like a bit too much, so I took the easy, less-literal route.

For Eeyore, take a medium blue piece of felt and cut out two ovals. For the tail, cut small strips of a darker blue that taper toward the end.

All of these earrings are so easy to make and we whipped them out in a half hour or less.

With the felt, they may not be earrings that will last forever, but they are such a fun craft and they will certainly be a cute addition to your outfit for a day at Disney or a trip to the theater for a Disney movie.

  1. We always search around for whichever hotel has the best deals at the time so we end up staying at different places whenever we go haha. One of my favorites though was the Pop Century resort because it was kind of retro themed!!
