Granola Snacks

Our kids are big granola fans. My daughter asks for yogurt and granola nearly every morning. It is her favorite breakfast or snack.

Since they love it so much, and we were given some of the most amazing granola varieties we have ever tasted from Hudson Henry Baking Co, we decided to see how many granola snacks we could come up with!

By the way, you have to try this granola! Small batch, award-winning granola that is better than any you’ve ever tried! Yum!

Fruit, yogurt, granola parfait

The most obvious choice is adding granola to yogurt. Which, of course, we did for breakfast right away. However, I think the simplistic genius of a gorgeous, layered parfait is often overlooked. We all eat with our eyes as much as our stomachs, so it never hurts to make something pretty. I guarantee, if you fill a clear cup with layers of yogurt, maple pecan & coconut granola, and some fruit, anyone will think it’s pretty special.

Yogurt Pops

This is something we haven’t done in a while, but it is a HUGE hit with the kids! Fruit and yogurt pops can easily become fruit, yogurt, and granola pops. Imagine how excited your kids would be if they were handed a popcicle of frozen yogurt and granola for breakfast!

Granola Pancakes

My husband makes breakfast for the family every other Sunday. This morning he made pancakes just as I was gathering my Hudson Henry granola to make some of these snacks. I hadn’t planned on having a pancake, but how could I resist trying a maple and walnut granola pancake!? I love the little crunch it adds. I could see adding granola to the top of some pancake muffins for an on-the-go breakfast with a crunch.

DIY trail mix

This is such a fun idea for kids or for parties. Put out whatever you have around the house: granola, dried fruit, nuts, maybe even some chocolate. Then, let the kids make their own mix. We did this for a camp-themed birthday party and the kids loved it.

2-Ingredient Apple Crisp

If you have apples and granola, you have enough to make something that tastes shockingly close to apple crisp without all the other ingredients. There is some magic that happens when you warm an apple. Sound familiar? All those sugars and juices release and sweeten everything they touch. If you cut an apple on the equator and scoop out the core, those juices that release when you broil it for a few minutes stay trapped inside. Fill the center with an amazing granola and you have a 2-ingredient apple crisp. It’s fantastic with Maple, Pecan, Coconut granola!

Warm Apple Slice Donuts

We just made Warm Apple Slice ‘Donuts’ not too long ago and we love them! Once again, the magic of a warmed apple combined with a cinnamon honey almond butter. Yum! This time, because of the sweetness of the delicious maple pecan and coconut granola, I used a cinnamon spread made by Don’t Go Nuts. Such a good pair! Of course, you can use any kind of peanut butter, nut butter, etc. but I totally recommend adding the cinnamon!

Banana Pop

When I made all these granola snacks, this is the one both kiddos chose to eat first. It’s no surprise, they’re so much fun. And so easy! Just cut a banana in half and insert a popcicle stick handle. If you’re using peanut butter, I’d suggest warming it first so it spreads easily. On these I used Lindsay Almond Butter because it’s some of the creamiest nut butter I’ve ever used. It spread right on very easily.

Banana, chocolate, granola bites

If banana slices are more your thing, this granola snack is a delicious and easy treat! Just banana slices, chocolate or chocolate spread, topped with granola. I used the Don’t Go Nuts Chocolate Spread, but this would be fantastic with a hazelnut spread or regular melted chocolate. They’re delicious right away, but you can also pop them in the freezer for a few minutes to help it all set. This one is so delicious with the pistachio, almonds, and coconut granola!

Chocolate Granola Clusters

In the natural progression of granola snacks, first we had a banana pop, then banana and chocolate, and now just chocolate and granola. This one is a real treat! A little dollop of melted chocolate on some parchment paper topped with pecan and chocolate granola or cashew and coconut granola.

We had so much fun with this! The kids gobbled up everything we made so quickly, and these are snacks that I feel very good about giving them. They’re also snacks I feel great about eating myself. I think I’m going to make the 2-ingredient apple crisp my dessert today!
