For the four years before the kids were in school, we were able to visit Walt Disney World during Christmas each year. We started doing Disney vacations when they were babies.

Disney World Christmas Decorations
The BEST part about visiting Walt Disney World during Christmas is all the beautiful decorations.
Disney doesn’t miss a single spot. The parks, the resorts, Disney Springs, and even along the roads are decorated for the holidays.
I’ve mentioned a few times that the first stop of any trip for us is Disney Springs. It’s a fantastic – and free – way to ease into all the Disney magic. It gives the kiddos the Disney excitement and the adults that warm Disney love feeling.
During the holidays, you can get that great feeling times two with the Disney World Christmas decor.
Resort Hopping
Resort hopping at Walt Disney World is always great….
Resort hopping at Disney during Christmas is amazing!
Each resort has it’s own themes and decor. They are all fun to see, and they each have their own something special.
We love taking the monorail and visiting the gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian. Then, we ride to the Contemporary to see all the gorgeous contemporary Christmas decorations. Even the Polynesian has a Christmas island feel and look.

Another favorite for us is to head to the boardwalk to see all the gorgeous Christmas decorations.
On one of our first trips, our favorite spot was the Yacht and Beach Club to see delicious chocolates and a Christmas carousel made from chocolate and gingerbread.
Each resort and space at Walt Disney World has it’s own special touches for the holidays. It’s so fun to explore them all!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
We LOVE Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! It’s such a magical way to experience a Disney World Christmas.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party is a special event at the Magic Kingdom, only during the holidays. With special tickets, you can attend the party after hours with less crowds and special touches.
In addition to the holiday decor, there is snow on Main Street, cookies and coco around the parks, and special shows and characters.
It’s a great way to get a little more Walt Disney World Christmas magic and Magic Kingdom in your trip. Nighttime is cooler, you get more opportunities on the rides, and it just has a special feel! We love it!

Holiday Character Costumes
One of the cutest things about a Disney World Christmas are the adorable costumes you will find the characters wearing.
They are so cute!
Christmas Mickey and Minnie are so cute and festive. You will also find other characters dressed up for the season.
It is a great time to get some unique photos you wont find other times of the year.

Walt Disney World Christmas Value Season
If you’re visiting Disney during Christmas, you can find some amazing deals! Travel right over thanksgiving or Christmas is not going to be very economical. The week surrounding Thanksgiving and the two weeks surrounding Christmas are considered Peak Seasons. The majority of December, however, is the regular season.
Traveling during other times during the holidays is great! There are two little “sweet spots” surrounding Thanksgiving that are considered the Value Season. Early in the November and the week following Thanksgiving will give you the best deals for a Walt Disney World Christmas.
We traveled to Disney during the holidays every year until the kids were in school. We always visited the week after Thanksgiving and were able to find some amazing deals!

I’m a former Disney cast member and I love these pictures! It’s making me miss the park at the holiday season! We’re taking our daughter to the park for the first time this year, unfortunately not during Christmas time, but we’ll wait til she’s old enough for the holiday fun so she can remember it! Thanks for sharing! #sharefest
I was a cast member too! I was a CP in ’03 and worked in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. I remember working late during the parties, adding the holiday scarves to our costumes! 🙂
So, exciting that you’re taking your little one soon! We took our son when he was 1yr and our daughter was 1mo!
How old is your daughter?
She’s about to be 1 and she’ll be about 14 months when we go. My husband and I were both entertainment cast members and know that’s a little young and she won’t remember it, but we don’t want to wait!
She will love it! I couldn’t wait either. Our little guy was about 17/18 months, and he was definitely into it and it was so fun to make those memories. I can’t wait to read about your trip!
I love, love, love Disney during the holidays! I also love the fact that they start the celebration early in November. My favorite thing to do is to resort hop. It’s free, easy to navigate, and super fun!
Great post 🙂
It’s the best time! The perfect way to get in the holiday spirit. You’re right, the best part is all the activities you can find for free!
