Campfire Slinky Dogs: Toy Story Lunch

June 14, 2019

Toy Story 4 has our favorite characters on a road trip. This Toy Story Lunch is perfect for over a campfire or in the oven. Kids will love Campfire Slinky Dogs!

The kids have been pretty Toy Story obsessed since our last vacation to Walt Disney World. We had our first visit to Hollywood Studios and Toy Story Land. They LOVED Slinky Dog Dash and still talk about it today. In fact, Little Lady uses the Slinky Dog toy we got as the ride for her dolls.

As you know, I also kind of have a thing for campers. I may love Toy Story even more because it has them on a road trip in an RV!

Therefore, it’s only fitting that our “Slinky Dogs” become Campfire Slinky Dogs for Toy Story 4!

Perfect for over a campfire or in the oven, kids will love these Campfire Slinky Dogs. Just like our Octopus Hot Dogs, there is something about so yummy about creating a little more surface area to caramelize. This spiral makes the hot dogs so fun and extra tasty!

Campfire Slinky Dogs over the fire

There is nothing better than a flame kissed hot dog over a fire or on the grill.

Using your roasting stick or a skewer, pierce the hot dog through the center the long way. With a knife, cut into the top of the hot dog at an angle. Rotate the hot dog so the knife cuts around the hot dog as you angle it down. Then spread out the slinky dog by pulling the ends out slightly.

If you don’t have a campfire or skewers to use on the grill, it works fine without them. The skewer helps to making cutting a little easier, but it’s still easy enough without. Instead of having the stick to guide you, you just have to be careful to only cut halfway as you turn the hot dog.

Even without pulling the hot dog and stretching out the “slinky” it will shrink up and separate in the oven or toaster oven.

It really doesn’t get any easier!

Kids Embrace Buzz Lightyear

Another favorite character in our house, next to Slinky Dog, is Buzz Lightyear!

We are fortunate enough to be the proud owners of a KidsEmbrace Buzz Lightyear car seat! I have been oogling over their character seats for so long. They are adorable!

Little Lady has had a Minnie Mouse themed booster in my husband’s car for a while now. Little Guy is thrilled to have one that is even cooler! The quality and the look is amazing. We love the hands for cup holders! Best of all, KidsEmbrace combines an impressive and fun look with all the safety you could want.

I think the kids believe it should stay in our living room because they love sitting in it so much. However, we’ve removed the 5 point restraint and are ready to use this as a permanent booster for Little Guy for years to come.
